3 ways your subconscious is like a stubborn dog

There are few things I find more entertaining than a dog that decides it's had enough of walking and just refuses to go any further. I was driving the other day and stopped at a red light, and a woman and her cavoodle crossed in front of me and another car who pulled up beside me. Halfway across the road, this dog sat down, and refused to go any further.
Despite the owner's pulling and encouragement, this little oodle was not going anywhere. The lights turned green for the traffic, but no-one moved. I don't know why the owner didn't just pick her dog up, but I'm glad she didn't because I was enjoying the show. Eventually she got her dog to the other side of the road, and the traffic started moving again.
No one got mad, and no one beeped their horn when the lights turned green. I'm pretty sure it was because everyone else who was held up found it as funny as I did. No matter how late I'm running, or how cranky I am, there will never be a time when I'm not amused by this type of dog behaviour. It must be super frustrating and embarrassing for the owner, but for the spectators, it's hilarious.
As I was driving, I didn't get any footage of this event, but as a substitute, here's a great video of a famous Gold Coast stubborn golden retriever:
Being a PSYCH-K® nerd, it occurred to me that this type of dog is very similar in behaviour to the subconscious mind, and I've been thinking about it ever since. And now you can too!
Here are 3 ways that your subconscious is like a stubborn dog:
If it doesn't want to do what you want, it's very difficult to make it.
Force creates resistance. Like you can see in the video, when the owner tries to pull on the leash, the dog sits or lies down and digs in. It's the same with the subconscious. Yeah, you can use conscious willpower to overcome subconscious resistance, like you can overcome the dog's resistance by picking it up and carrying it, but it uses a lot of energy, and you can only keep it up for so long. As soon as you let go of that conscious control, it's going to go back to its old tricks.
This is why it's so hard to change habits without addressing the subconscious beliefs and programs that are driving them. The subconscious has a million times greater processing power than the conscious mind, so it takes an enormous amount of focus and energy to override it.
"Force creates resistance."
It acts according to its own patterns rather than logical reasoning.
It's often easy to see our limiting or damaging behaviours and logically know all the reasons why we should change them, but that doesn't make it any easier. Like you can know full well that starting assignments or projects early will save a lot of stress and make your life better, but time after time they get left to the last minute.
You can't reason with a stubborn dog, and you can't reason with the subconscious; there's no-one home. The subconscious is like a set of computer software programs, and they're fixed unless you have access to re-write them. PSYCH-K® is a simple and easy way to get this access. You can also change these programs slowly over time using repetition if you like to keep things old school.
"By aligning our automatic programs and patterns with what we want, we get out of our own way and let the magic happen."
If you know how to treat it, it can become your best friend and greatest ally.
Just like the stubbornest of dogs can be your best friend, even the most limiting, disempowering and damaging beliefs can be changed to support you, when you know how. As I mentioned before, the subconscious has a million times more processing power than the conscious mind, and tools like PSYCH-K® allow us to redirect that power to support our goals, dreams and wishes. By aligning our automatic programs and patterns with what we want, we get out of our own way and let the magic happen.
Our subconscious minds work to find evidence that validates our beliefs, rejecting inputs that don't match up. This is how we are constantly creating our reality. Everyone has their own personal reality, their way of perceiving the world, based on their beliefs. By learning PSYCH-K® or working with a Facilitator, and taking small, achievable actions towards your goals, there is very little that you can't achieve when you make friends with, and know how to treat your subconscious.
